Review: Save Space With This Versatile RV Grill

Otzi Adventure Gear Offers Space-Saving RV Grill

Every RVer or vanlifer will face the same dilemma; to grill or not to grill? Traditional charcoal portable grills are bulky and can be a hassle both to set up and to fit inside an RV or van conversion. This leads to many RVers ditching their RV grill in favor of indoor cooking. But if you’re someone who has given up on barbecuing, what happens at the campground when the smell of a burger grilling reaches your nose?

You can try using the grill at the campsite, if it’s in proper working order, if it has been cleaned, and if it isn’t full of trash. Instead, try one of Otzi Adventure Gear’s flat pack RV grills. Not only do they easily disassemble into flat pieces that take up virtually no space when stored, but they are either charcoal or wood-burning. You’ll never have to compromise on flavor to save on space. Otzi grills are truly the best of both worlds.

From Flat Pack to RV Grill

The front, back, and side plates fit together to form a fully contained grill frame that can double as a fire pit. Depending on the size of the RV grill you choose, each comes equipped with 1-4 steel skewers that sit inside the built-in skewer notches on the side plates. The notches allow for the skewers to be rotated to 6 different positions, so you can cook your kebabs evenly every time! The skewers can also be used as marshmallow roasting sticks, or as a prod to tend your fire.

Built-In Temperature Control

The unique flat pack design also solves the age-old issue of fire temperature versus the perfect cook. The back plate of the grill is designed with four different slots, so the grill plate can be raised or lowered depending on the fire temperature. This allows you to start cooking as soon as you start the fire. Simply place the grill plate on the lowest setting while the fire heats up and move it up a notch or two if the fire gets too hot. Easily cook any meal to perfection!

  1. Very interesting products can you tell me how much the grills are for the size of two people. I’d like to compare the prices of all the different metals that they’re made from.

  2. I have an Otzi grill and have used it on a number of trips.
After several uses it becomes more difficult to assemble and break down.
I (subjectively) have to use more fuel than I like to get a good grilling temperature.
I’m currently looking for a replacement.

  3. They offer a lot of different material options and addon options for their sizes which makes the price vary a lot. Their product page here has the most complete and up to date pricing.

Thanks for being a Vanlifers reader.
